Spring is technically here, though the weather doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo. Just a few days ago, a surprise snowstorm swept in, making the second day of spring feel more like January. On the upside, the snowy day meant T worked from home, and we were able to spend some extra time together while also cleaning and re-organizing the house to prepare for weekend guests. (Note to self: finally redesign the second bedroom so it feels more guest-friendly, because shifting furniture to fit an air mattress is not the vibe.)
This week also marked the start of a little adventure with my niece, who has been counting down the days to visit the American Girl Doll store. Her fifth birthday is just around the corner, and she’s had her heart set on a very specific doll for months. I can’t wait to see her face when she finally picks it out. We’re also planning to brave the chaos of Toys “R” Us in Times Square before it officially closes. Honestly, the news of its closure hit me with a wave of nostalgia. I still remember going there as a kid with my parents, wide-eyed over Barbie displays and LEGO playsets. It feels like the end of an era.
Even if it doesn’t feel like spring yet, I’m leaning into the idea of warmer days ahead—picnics in the park, long brunches outdoors, and, of course, refreshing my wardrobe. Stripes seem to be following me home every shopping trip, and shirt dresses are becoming my new obsession. But fashion aside, this week’s Friday Finds is all about beauty: products I’ve discovered, rediscovered, or simply added to my ever-growing wish list. And yes, a “quick” Sephora run turned into the usual black hole of endless swatching and testing—because doesn’t it always?
Here’s what’s currently on my radar:
1. Violet Voss Rainbow Palette
I walked into Sephora looking for Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer (only to discover it’s Ulta-exclusive—bummer!) but stumbled across this rainbow dream instead. The palette is bursting with bright spring and summer hues, each infused with jojoba oil for smooth application and a hit of hydration.
2. KKW Beauty Concealer Kits
Kim Kardashian is at it again. Her four-step kit—liquid concealers (16 shades), baking powders, and brightening powders—dropped this week for $80. If her previous launches are any indication, it’ll sell out in a flash.
3. Moroccanoil Pure Argan Oil
Argan oil is a staple in my beauty arsenal, and I’ve long loved Moroccanoil’s hair products. Their pure body oil is a new favorite—multi-purpose, nourishing, and perfect for face, hair, and nails.
4. Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Gel
Everyone’s buzzing about this brow gel that delivers pigment and definition lasting up to two days. Low-maintenance brows? Sign me up.
5. Rituals Cosmetics
Their foaming shower gels have been a long-time love of mine, but their Nuit à Marrakech perfume is my newest obsession. Think florals, saffron, and cedarwood—it’s intoxicating, sophisticated, and equally perfect for day or night.
6. It Cosmetics Micellar Wipes
This brand has been in my rotation for years, and their new Bye Bye Makeup Wipes take things up a notch. They don’t just remove makeup—they hydrate and soothe with anti-aging benefits, too.
7. NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
I’m obsessed with NYX’s soft matte lip creams, so trying their Liquid Suede line was inevitable. My favorite shade? “Kitten Heels”—a bold red that glides on smoothly, dries matte, and doesn’t budge.
8. Lubriderm Normal to Dry Lotion
Sometimes the best finds are rediscoveries. I used Lubriderm religiously in college but drifted away. This winter’s dry patches convinced me to go back, and my skin is thanking me.
9. Christian Louboutin Beaute Nail Polish
These polishes aren’t just beauty products—they’re art. I’m currently loving the Loubitag Collection III duo in red (“Edgypopi”) and blue (“Baraboum”). Perfect pops of color for summer.
10. Dior Capture Youth Boost Age-Delay Serum
On my wish list: this serum, powered by Murunga Plum (100x more vitamin C than oranges!) and AHAs for brightness and smoothness. It can be mixed into moisturizer or used solo.
11. bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer
A new extension to their Gen Nude line, these lip lacquers deliver full-coverage shine in 20 shades of nude, with hydrating minerals to keep lips soft all day.
12. Shhhower Cap
Yes, shower caps can be chic! These modern versions are made with nanotech fabric, totally waterproof, machine washable, and styled like turbans. Finally, a cap I won’t hide away.
13. Snow Fox Skincare
Their Day & Night Defense Cream (with ginseng, jojoba, and macadamia oils) and Soothing Facial Mousse are high on my list. I love a good double cleanse, and these products bring natural ingredients plus a refreshing dose of peppermint oil.
This week was a mix of nostalgia, snowstorms, and spring daydreaming—but these beauty finds kept things fun and fresh. Whether it’s rediscovering an old favorite like Lubriderm or lusting after Dior’s serum, I love how beauty products always feel like little luxuries, especially when paired with the excitement of a new season.
Here’s to warmer days, blooming cherry blossoms, and maybe just one more “quick” Sephora trip (though we all know how that ends).
